Canada Club Soccer Announces Inaugural Club Symposium

[2007.02.21 - ]  Club leaders to gather in Toronto April 14-15, 2007

Canada Club Soccer announced today the dates of the inaugural club symposium that will gather soccer club leaders from around the country to discuss challenges and issues that face the growth and development of the sport.

Club leaders from each of the Provinces will attend the meeting to constructively assess the issues surrounding the game and club soccer. In addition, the attending members will formalize the Canada Club Soccer infrastructure, mission, and establish goals for development of the organization. Crucial issues will be assembled in order to actively advocate the necessary changes for the future of the sport. These issues will be put forth to the various governing bodies to initiate positive changes that will foster the growth and development of club soccer at all levels.

Over the past month, the founding members of Canada Club Soccer have received a welcoming response from many clubs and soccer organizations throughout the country. Many club technical and administrative leaders have given their support to aid the organization in the development of club soccer in Canada.

"The founding members are actively in the process of formalizing the forum to provide a constructive environment to present, discuss, and offer ideas for resolution on major topics surrounding club soccer in Canada," added founding member, John Pugh of the Ottawa Fury. "We have received many positive responses from leading clubs around the country, and we expect the symposium to be well attended."

The symposium will be aimed at individuals who are involved with club soccer programs at both the technical and administrative levels. Both issues surrounding governance and the technical aspects of the game will be presented.

Those that wish to attend must register online at www.canadaclubsoccer.com . A minimal $50.00 fee will be assessed for each attendee to help cover costs associated with the hotel meeting space, symposium programming, etc.
